Student SUPPORT

We have dedicated staff laser-focused on helping launch every graduate into an exciting career, in a field that interests them. During their final four quarters, students work one-on-one with the Career Services staff to identify career opportunities, prepare for interviews, evaluate job offers, and negotiate employment terms.

Why does Neumont place such a large focus on professional development? Because, it's those professional soft skills that set a Neumont graduate apart. Through our team-based projects students develop the critical communication skills and professionalism that can't be taught from a textbook. From day one, a Neumont graduate can move seamlessly from the server room to the board room and communicate with confidence and tact.

Neumont offers a range of Career Services professional development courses with a focus on conflict resolution, presentation skills, creating professional correspondence, and strengthening communication skills in a professional environment. Freshman Orientation Week — A combination of courses, seminars, and experiences which explore topics in all six of our degree programs and prepare you for success at Neumont. Our team will tell you about Career Services activities to be involved in and share career search best practices for making the most of your academic career.

Career Readiness — Study topics related to effective professional communication and negotiation abilities including: emails, social media, résumés, cover and thank you letters, interviewing techniques, and salary negotiation.

CAREER WEEK ACTIVITIES

Career Week is a quarterly event at Neumont College of Computer Science that gives students and potential employers the opportunity to meet, ask questions, and evaluate the potential of a strong career fit. Students are encouraged to prepare résumés and practice interviewing skills before employers arrive on campus.

Tech Talks: Each day leaders in the industry discuss opportunities with different companies, technology solutions, work cultures, and hiring processes.

Career Readiness Workshops: Résumé and interview sessions held throughout the week.

Networking: Employers often host small informal meetings in the evenings to better get to know you and your classmates.

Booth Fair: Companies and their representatives meet students in a less formal setting.

Interviews: Each day Neumont's Industry Partners reserve rooms and conduct interviews with students throughout the quarter.
